Jesus didn't preach hate;
He preached repentance and restoration.

That's what footwashing represents, metaphorically. It reflects our desire to be cleansed of what defiles us, and our commitment to forgive one another.

“I’m a non-resistant unbeliever”

Says the man who is addicted to sin, has disordered sexual habits, refuses to pray, claims to believe the universe can pop into existence uncaused out of nothing, and reads all the academic atheist literature he can get his hands on.

'One philosopher sums it up by saying, 'in naturalism, death is stronger than love, and in Christianity, love is stronger than death.' Which of those worldviews can you actually live with if you really think about it while holding your child in your arms?'

If we could ever share in God’s perfect knowledge, we would immediately see that every person he condemns is fully deserving of it, and every person he saves is a testament to his profound love and grace.

1) Public execution
2) The empty tomb
3) The appearances/sightings of the risen Jesus
4) Paul/James conversions
5) The explosion of Christianity across the known world

It's very difficult to account for these historical facts without believing the testimony of the risen Jesus.

Criticizing God because there is evil and suffering in the world is like cursing the North Star because you have lost your way.

C.S. Lewis almost died in the trench warfare of WW-I

Became best friends with Tolkien

Sold 100 million books

On the cusp of WW-II, he gave an iconic lecture at Oxford University (1939)

His question:

Does beauty matter when bombs start falling?

THIS is his profound answer👇🏻

One of the Christian’s greatest joys is meditating on the character of the transcendent, triune God.

At its heart Christianity is knowing God.

The Holy Spirit doesn’t guide each one of us to our own personal truth. He guides us toward unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God. He guides us into all truth, and makes us one in Christ.

The Holy Spirit doesn't prompt us to gloat over the failures of our enemies.

If we love them (as Christ has commanded) then we will hope their failures lead them to right thinking, right conduct, repentance, obedience to the gospel and salvation.

Fools mock God's timing. Jesus didn't come down from the cross because he was there in accordance with the Father's will, to purchase our redemption. God's apparent silence and inactivity always serve his divine purposes.

Believers are called to live as children of light, and find out what pleases the Lord. May we answer his call each day without fail.

When the apostles selected a replacement for Judas, they considered it essential that he be an eyewitness to the ministry of Jesus and his resurrection.
