If you saw a list of faculty/ed development offerings & one of the sections on that list was 'Courses' what would you expect those offerings would consist of?

How would those offerings differ from other things on that list?

Would a week-long course design institute go there?

When my 4th grade teacher told my mother I was “a bit much.”

I will never understand people who dump on “grade grubbing” students.

Grade grubbing is a very logical reaction to the very illogical system that students are subjected to.

I am obsessed with students who write in their real voices.

Who type stuff like 'Oops, we are now 2 pgs in & I am going to finally address the prompt.'

It's such a joyful validation of my approach, because they wouldn't be so real if they were afraid I'd penalize them for it.

I was talking through a frustration with a good friend yesterday, and she said such a good thing:

“Capitalism depends on misalignment. It requires that people are unaware of misalignments between values and behaviors and that they push ahead anyways.”

For those following along, it took a hot minute, but we were able to get both the salary and remote work explanation added to the ad for our new Faculty Development position.

100% of my Teaching & Student Success Lab (TASSL) students have reported they are coming back next semester. Even though they all already have enough research credit & even though some are graduating. AND we're growing by 60% with new lab members. We are on to something here! 😁
