Whoa. So much to say about the career of Aaron Donald after covering him closely since his arrival in LA in 2016, but what stands out most is what a pro he was to work with as a reporter. A total pro. Cheers to him and his family. He will be greatly missed in the game.

Saddened by the passing of Chris Mortensen. It is difficult to articulate the impact he’s had on me as a reporter and person. The biggest takeaway: Take the time to send others messages when they least expect it. Mort did it and it’s impossible to describe what those notes meant.

The Packers have the last major piece to the new defensive staff now in place. Former Chargers DC Derrick Ansley will be the new pass game coordinator, per a source. There will likely be a few quality control or assistant position coaches added but all key positions are filled.

Former Rams, Vikings and Seahawks QB Sean Mannion is ending his nine-year NFL playing career and has accepted a position on the Packers’ coaching staff, a source tells me. He’ll work with QBs and the passing game.
