Such a fantastic day working with the Mount Pleasant Junior School team yesterday. We thought hard about how to implement Writing Roots in a way that is fully inclusive and that supports every pupil, whatever their starting point, to enjoy and make progress in writing. Literacy Tree

A wonderful INSET with the staff at Kingswood Prep in beautiful Bath to launch Literacy Tree #WritingRoots 🚀- we wrote lonely hearts adverts, sent messages in bottles and explored the stunning lyrical language and illustrations in Nen and the Lonely Fisherman 🌈 🎣 🧜♂️
A real joy to kick off the Summer Term with a Writing Roots INSET at Hillside Infant School. We explored the #teachthroughatext approach that underpins all our resources and then journeyed through a Writing Root for the brilliant book Leo and the Octopus. Literacy Tree

Y5 have started to read their new class text, ‘The Island’ by Armin Greder. They focused on the image of the man being intimidated and created rhetorical questions. The children in the middle said the man would feel overwhelmed and emotional. Literacy Tree #StGerEnglish
