While #MariahCarey and #TheEmancipationOfMimi are trending, I thought I’d share this letter I wrote to @mariahcarey again about my book Glitter Boy, which is about a kid who loves Mariah! I don’t know if she ever saw it…maybe one day!

Love Teresa Cremin’s thoughts & premise around ‘reader to reader’ interaction rather than teacher to pupil relationship. This gives the child a voice and agency to their opinions on texts. The love of reading really is a great way to build rapport and grow a stronger bond.
Brilliant ‘World Book Day!’ Pupils dressed as adjectives this year- which lent itself to some very interesting costumes. Class book swaps, book sales from East Norfolk Bookworms, topped off with an author visit from Nigel Lungenmuss-Ward sharing his books & captivating storytelling skills
The SEND system is buckling on every level. It takes far too long to get an initial assessment. The number of pupils with EHCPs has risen and funding hasn't kept pace. It all causes distress to children, families and school staff, and they deserve better.

When I visit schools, I'm often asked 'what is your favourite poem?'. I've collected some of my faves and made them available for *FREE* on my website. Divided into sections - young kids, older kids, and adults. I hope you enjoy taking a look: joshuaseigal.co.uk #edutwitter
