During her time here in Alberta, I was delighted to welcome to my office in the Legislature, Her Excellency, Esra Demir, Ambassador of Turkey. A wonderful opportunity for conversation and connection.

30 years ago the genocide against the Tutsi in Rwanda took place. I was humbled to join a commemoration ceremony Legislative Assembly of Alberta.

Let us make a sincere commitment to stand up to hatred and prejudice, and let us never forget the souls who were taken from us in this genocide.

On this day in 1982, the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms was signed into law.
Let each of us take this Equality Day to recommit to ensuring that the cherished and essential principles of the #cdncharter continue to thrive in our communities.

Congratulations to the Royal Canadian Air Force on 100 years of exemplary service to Canada and the world.
We remember with utmost gratitude those who paid the ultimate price so that we can continue to enjoy our many freedoms - something that we should never take for granted.
