iPhone : The Tory chair of the Procedure committee, Karen Bradley, said members would effectively be “disenfranchised” if the hybrid system - which allows all MPs to participate regardless of their personal circumstances - was abandoned. theguardian.com/politics/2020/…

iPhone : Doncaster is a place close to my heart. This was the next best thing to being there.

iPhone : Public health measures and economic support need to be in lockstep. So while some welcome news in Chancellor’s announcement, deeply concerned about workers and self-employed in sectors that may take much longer to reopen and recover, including hospitality, tourism and arts.

iPhone : This is short-sighted. Martin Lewis has performed outstanding public service in explaining all the schemes, providing free detailed advice and getting answers to questions. Give him a slot at the press conference! twitter.com/martinslewis/s…

iPhone : I am concerned about Rishi Sunak’s announcement regarding furlough. Hospitality/leisure was one of the first to close and will be one of the last to open. Operators simply can’t afford to contribute to wages whilst still closed. If he asks for this, it’ll create huge job losses.

iPhone : "With 17 months to prepare for COP26, there can be no excuse now for nations not to significantly boost their climate ambitions in line with the Paris Agreement". Matthew Pennycook

iPhone : There are some industries that are the cornerstone of UK manufacturing, like steel production. That’s why ⁦Ed Miliband⁩ and I have written to the government calling for more urgency in supporting this vital sector. mirror.co.uk/news/politics/…

iPhone : A good step forward but, as ever, devil will be in the detail. Need to make sure ALL buildings with any unsafe cladding and, crucially, their leaseholders can access this fund and that it’s sufficient. Manchester Cladiators twitter.com/mhclg/status/1…

iPhone : Congratulations to David. It’s a difficult job but a very important one which I’m sure will be a huge honour too. twitter.com/siennamarla/st…

iPhone : Devastating news for workers and the sector. The gov loan scheme is not working when great a British company like McLaren Group does not get access to finance. Gov need to be far quicker in reacting to business concerns & changes are needed immediately to CLBILS to protect jobs. twitter.com/BBCNews/status…

Twitter for iPad : We cannot throw away valuable public & political good will any longer. It’s humiliating & degrading to their office to see ministers put out agreed lines in defence of an advisor. This is a time of national emergency and our focus must be unrelenting. We owe it to the nation.
