A group of officers were being commended for helping London Ambulance Service give CPR to a man who had suffered a cardiac arrest

What they didn't know was that the man, Robert Barker, was at the ceremony to surprise and thank the officers for saving his life.

An officer, driven by a deep sense of duty, has made a habit of tackling burglars - even when off-duty!

In the last six months, Acting Inspector Paul Beckley spotted and arrested three burglars while on leave.
