I feel Liberal Party doesn't want to spend the billions per year needed for the CDB. I also feel they haven't successfully negotiated with provincial governments & had to go with the lowest amount that wouldn't/couldn't be clawed back by provincial social assistance programs

Been reading tweets that Canada's long-awaited Disability Benefit will boil down to $200/month and you must be eligible for the Disability Tax Credit to access it. Translation: It's not enough, and there is a huge barrier to even getting that little bit. It's a joke.

I’m disappointed the Federal government has capped the new Canada Disability Benefit at $2400 per year. It was touted by the Justin Trudeau government as a benefit akin to the Guaranteed income supplement given to low income seniors, whose maximum amount is $1065/mo (single).

Is there a lawyer out there that wud b willing to sue the federal government? For disabled persons who were promised immediatte aid in writing which they did not do and long term aid to lift us out of poverty which by their Math is $200 & we still can't even c the poverty line

Disabled Canadians are quite disappointed that after years of waiting for the carrot that's been dangling in front of our faces. Instead we were handed a pile of shit. No, it was shoved directly in our faces like a big ol' shit pie. This isn't a win, disabled Canadians are livid

Just to give people an idea of how difficult the DTC is to qualify for: I have a permanent medical disability so I am guaranteed access to ODSP, no review necessary ever, but my doctor said I'd have no chance.
