5 years ago, our Redwire Space (Formerly Made In Space) Additive Manufacturing Facility (AMF) arrived to International Space Station! As the first commercial 3D printer on the ISS, AMF paved the way for commercial in-space manufacturing & provided key insights for new in-space manufacturing technologies. (Thread)

Crystals of all types have been grown on Earth and in space. What makes the nonlinear optical crystals from ICF so special? Check out this infographic on the differences between protein crystals, which are well studied on International Space Station, and our optical crystal:

Home safe and sound! ⚙️

Redwire team members traveled to NASA's Kennedy Space Center today to pick up our Ceramic Manufacturing Module (CMM) test prints from the International Space Station Processing Facility. The samples are now headed back to our facility for further analysis.

We have splashdown! The SpaceX Dragon capsule, carrying our Ceramic Manufacturing Module prints, splashed down off the coast of Florida last night. Our teams are eager to analyze the samples as we work to optimize and scale these new in-space manufacturing capabilities.

that CMM is the first SLA printer on International Space Station?

Before module install & ops, our engineers projected images on the lens cap of the CMM to ensure the projector was in focus. This image highlights the partners that supported this historic mission: bit.ly/3mxbvyb
