Truly shocking

The students of Ivy League become the politicians and business leaders of the future after zero moral guidance from the very top of their Universities

MEGA-THREAD (sorry)

Boris Johnson was born in USA, and lived there using the name 'Al' until he went to Eton, at which point contemporaries said he invented 'the eccentric English persona' we know now.

His family calls him Al in private. 'Boris' is just a marketing brand.

Power market messed up. Add to this new wind farms scooping up peak power prices before enacting CFDs

Retail market messed up, 60+ suppliers in not choice but confusion and many went bust not before the directors pocketed cash

The House of Commons @CommonsSTC completed its hydrogen inquiry:

'Hydrogen is not a panacea for reaching Net Zero' and it is 'unwise to assume hydrogen can make a large contribution to reducing UK greenhouse gas emissions in the short and medium term.'

Michelle Mone’s lawyers sent us fierce denials that she was involved in PPE Medpro;

Company was “proud” its PPE “helped keep our NHS workers safe”;

In fact the gowns, for which the govt paid £122m, were rejected after inspection, never used in the NHS. theguardian.com/uk-news/2022/n…

I’m entering on behalf of Boris and Carrie. Whilst they are away we can change the locks on #10 😀

Apologies to our Scottish friends having to put up with them, but us down south would really appreciate the favour.

+UPDATE+

Use of Lebedev family residences by Boris Johnson “much greater than previously known”.

Total time spent by the prime minister & former foreign secretary at these homes now thought to run “into months” not days.

All time spent there without security detail or sweeps.

PCR testing at high cycles has always been wrong.

Easy solution could have been implemented to retest after a few days those with low viral counts. If worse then positive otherwise negative

Looks like boosters and Omicron have limited use other than for over 70 years olds ( say over 60s to be conservative) and CEV?

Two does and previous infection even less benefit of a booster.

Here's the current vaccination picture in England:

Not many people with only one jab (red).

Lots of people with two jabs (dark brown).

Plenty of people with three (turqouise), but predominantly in older age groups.

Quite a chunk of unvaccinated under 40s.

Great read from Francois on precautionary principle

‘Even within EU law, the precautionary principle is highly malleable and performs many different functions (Scotford, 2017)’

We all want to help NHS, save lives/Xmas, etc. but 2 problems with this plan:
1. Lack of evidence that Plan B restrictions will help (they must be seeing what is happening in European countries that have them) but good evidence that boosters will
