After years of apparent inactivity, which saw it moored in the Yantar yard's graveyard of incomplete builds, work has apparently resumed on ALMAZ, the second of the Yantar-class 'oceanographic research vessels'.

As always, US delivery of new capabilities is telegraphed well in advance.

Now watch how the VKS does absolutely nothing to prepare and loses like fifteen jets in Crimea.

Yโ€™all, the Ukrainians are likely to receive M39A1 with APAM submunitions.

Moreover, even if they receive M48 or M57 with unitary warheads, they likely arenโ€™t going to blow their limited allotment on a target that a 225 kg blast frag warhead wonโ€™t have optimal effects on.

One of the rarest images I have is a high-quality image of the Long Range Air Launched Target (LRALT), which is the SRALT's bigger brother. The system is made up of double-stacked SR-19s and has a range of 1,300-2400 km. It has been used to test Patriot (PAC-3) and THAAD.

This kind of micromanaging is ridiculous and simply costs Ukrainian lives and materiel ( from David Sanger )
So, the Americans point the Ukrainians in the right direction but stop short of giving them precise targeting data.

I love it when my favorite issue pops up. My book on US nuclear deterrence and its compatibility with the just war doctrine comes out this summer.

Matt Costlow From my perspective as a former test engineer:

These people mix up a carefully designed test to exercise a system with a rigged test. While it is true that sometimes testers can be, frankly, stupid and design tests that will succeed no matter what, this is not the norm...

Slovaks, you are amazing! This is one example of how people can do great things when they are united. Thank you, friends!

A crowdfunding campaign in Slovakia to buy artillery shells for Ukraine has exceeded its target of โ‚ฌ1m (ยฃ850,000), less than 48 hours after it was launched
