Democracy is all well and good but I saw no dogs at my polling station and the guy next to me had a horrendous jumper on.

Today is the 25th anniversary of the bombing of the Admiral Duncan pub in Soho, London. The attack was part of a series of three bombings designed to stir up racial and homophobic hatred in April 1999. Today we remember those who were lost or injured in the attacks.

As a queer person of colour who heard that bomb go off in Soho, I choose not to forget that the attacker also targeted south Asian people in Brick Lane and Black people in Brixton in the same period. Let’s commemorate all victims of this heinous hate crime #admiralduncan
