Pasqueflower Pulsatilla vulgaris, nearly in bloom. A rare plant in the UK (vulnerable) which is restricted to just a few chalk&limestone grasslands. Misty day at Lymington-Keyhaven Nature Reserve, lots to see & hear. But watching this sandwich tern hunting was a highlight. Spring firsts-whitethroat&reed warbler.

When the river is up, water floods surrounding land and flows across the road like a river for weeks, generally diverting into this field, over the grass towards another part of the tributary #testvalley Wessex Rivers Trust
90% of England is classed as rural (House of Lords Library) and 85% of Welsh land is farmed, forestry or common land - why do we only get 0.1%? It is neglect. No wonder rural communities, farmers, land managers, keepers and small holders feel alone when it comes to #ruralcrime

The poor weather affects the ability to hunt as their silent,adapted feathers are not very waterproof. BOs typically eat 3-4prey items/night which increases to each owlet, that's 4,000 prey items/yr/pair+offspring! The Owl Box Initiative
