More G1 fun with an end of day House activity! I challenged them to build “The Great Wall of Chadwick!” Who could use good teamwork to build the longest cube wall out of construction straws! Big win for “Air!” So fun on such a nice Spring day!

Today I taught grade 1E how to play Crokinole! Their current UoI is all about play. Not having a board, I made two in the Makerspace to give them, including 3D printed discs. 😎 It was so nice sharing a new game with them and seeing how pumped they were to play it! 🥰

Students are learning to code by combining cultural embroidery traditions—like Mexican and Japanese—with computer science. 😍

Our beanbag toss games are just about complete! Students tested out their games with each other and made final tweaks. We look forward to inviting some g1 kids to play next time for some useful feedback!

G1 are creating marble mazes! Their UoI revolves around play so we r designing fun and silly mazes, complete with traps and bonus points! Step 1 is drawing a maze, then we will color and decorate. Finally we will add paper straws as maze walls! Lots of great thinking happening!

Used MagicSchool AI student for first time with G5 today. Using PYPx topics, they used the research assistant and Raina chatbot to assist in their research or help with another aspect of PYPx. Fascinating to watch students learning safe, responsible use of AI in the classroom.

We welcomed a group of students from Pathways School in India into the Makerspace today. They learned about Korean protective totems called Jangseung (장승) They began to create their own fun faces using cardboard scraps and a lil creativity.

I loved catching up with some of my former colleagues from AISGZ and meeting some of their new team. Was great to finally meet Tim Evans 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿🇪🇸🇭🇰🇦🇪🇨🇳 in person. Felt like we’ve known each other for ages. Must be our welshness! 🤪 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

Now I have a wishlist of things to beg my admin for and even prototype a lazy Susan for 360° stable scanning of student projects! 🤩🤩🤩
