The biggest fallacy in education at the moment is that you can ask some young children what they remember and then make a judgement about a school based on that.

The AHT and DHT job market is tough at the moment, with a lot of jobs going to internal candidates.

Emma Turner FCCT The feedback go-to is Shirley Clarke FCCT She makes this point too - as have I for about forty years. Otherwise, you become like Ofsted: ‘that was good but….’. Imagine every piece if feedback over 7 primary yrs being ‘not good enough’. Dispiriting.

I’ve met up with two friends this week who plan to quit teaching for good at the end of the year.

Both cited behaviour & workload.

We’re constantly losing great teachers because the sector can’t get this right at scale.

I don’t know what the answer is, it just makes me so sad.

I'm just sorting out my schedule for Aut zoom sessions run after school. Would your school be interested in a live staff meeting (like the mixed-age model from this year)? The cost would be kept as low because I know how stretched budgets are.

Dr James Shea I wouldn't add. I would remove. Primary is too full. We need to do less, better and engage children in spontaneous learning like we used to do.
