6hourly Weather Update: by 5:00am this morning many areas were partly cloudy. However, Sunny intervals are expected to dominate many of the regions with expected showers only around lake Victoria basin, Elgon highlands and a few areas in Southwestern region. Update at 12:00noon

Sunny intervals continue to dominate most areas of the country this afternoon. However,Isolated showers are expected in Karamoja region, central Northern Kyoga basin, Mid Western and Western lake Victoria Basin.

6hourly update:Most areas are partly cloudy this morning . This condition is expected to change into sunny intervals in most areas apart from Karamoja region & Ssese islands that will have isolated showers. In afternoon, isolated showers expected in areas to be defined in update.

After episodes of heavy rainfall in most areas, Sunny intervals are observed in most parts of the country this afternoon and are expected to prevail till evening when there will be rain. Next 6hourly update coming up. We feel for areas that had river bursts and floods.

Tropical cyclone Hidaya makes landfall in Tanzania. This is first video received but detailed ones coming soon. We pray losses are curtailed. After the landfall, it will cease and the usual weather systems will take over.

Heavy Rains alert still on. This morning, most of the regions are cloudy with expected showers in Central, Northeastern, Western and Southwestern districts. The Districts on alert should prepare for early action mainly for flash flooding, landslides, river bursting among others.

Heavy Rains Alert:Heavy rains expected in parts of Southwestern,Midwestern,Karamoja,Acholi sub-regions in the next 10days. Potential hazards expected include flashfloods, landslides,waterlogging,water sources contamination,distruction of roads,washing away/collapsing of bridges.
