Thought Watkins was excellent tonight. On a one-man mission in the second half and Olympiacos had no answers at times. Sort of performance he couldn’t have produced 18 months ago - has come on so much under Emery

Villa ultimately beaten by a more streetwise team and a lack of European experience showed. Well below usual standards, so many misplaced passes & poor individual displays. Feels like the tie is beyond them now

There are no plans for to loan out Oscar Bobb next season, or cash in on him like Cole Palmer last summer. Only signed a new contract in Feb & is well thought of at City, even if competition for places could increase with Savio's arrival.

Just over 24 hours after reports emerge that would be willing to listen to offers for most players, Fernandes has spoken about one day playing outside the Premier League.

Coincidence? 🤷‍♂️

Both & feel they've been wronged by the PL for different reasons - although at least everyone agreed to boo the pre-match anthem.

City Ground felt angry yday - not surprising given recent goings on - but says a lot about current state of PL.

Guardiola predicted today would be tough, but I doubt he could have predicted how out of sorts his side would be. Still, three points all that matters. Didn't panic or lose their cool, vital at this stage of the season.

Guardiola calling Walker over for a chat during a brief interlude. Twice he's been beaten by Aina in the opening 30 minutes.

Doku & Grealish start. Haaland on the bench. No Dias or Foden in the squad.

Starting XI: Ederson; Walker, Akanji, Ake, Gvardiol; Rodri, Silva, De Bruyne; Doku, Alavarez, Grealish.

Rico Lewis could make his 50th senior appearance today. Some achievement considering his debut was 18 months ago. Phil Foden & Kelechi Iheanacho the only youth-team graduates in Abu Dhabi era to achieve that landmark.

Villa have developed a worrying habit of mini mid-game collapses where the match gets away from them. Today, Brentford (H), City (A), Spurs (H), Luton (A) since start of March, plus United (H+A) & Newcastle (H). Need to improve on it next season

Part of the problem with VAR/referee discussion is that this ridiculous reaction from Chelsea players won’t be condemned more than a dodgy offside or goal would. Such a damaging culture to constantly frame officials as the villains.

For the second week in a row, Pep Guardiola is concerned about the travel demands on his players. Less than 72 hours between Brighton & Forest games & Guardiola claimed Sunday's match could be a real challenge against a relegation-threatened side
