Nobody who joins Anglicanism does it because they admire Henry VIIIth. I did so because I admired C.S. Lewis, Elliot, Sayers, Pusey, Herbert, Dunn, Andrews, Charles I, NT Wright and George Washington—as most Roman Catholics do too

The kingdom of God is not a matter of eating or drinking, but of justice, peace, and the joy that is given by the Holy Spirit (Romans 14:17).

The use of images is not to bow to wood and paint, but to meditate on it’s evangelistic device. The image is a silent sermon, in no place is there deprivation of God’s Word.

An economic nationalist platform in line with the thought of our Federalist founding fathers. Seems alright to me.

The Absolution or Remission of sins

'He pardoneth and absolveth all them that truly repent, and unfeignedly believe his holy Gospel. Wherefore let us beseech him to grant us true repentance, and his Holy Spirit, that those things may please him, which we do at this present;'

“Uhh ofc the eternal Logos (who is reflected in the many logoi of creation) enhypostatized a human nature. Consequently He is a compound hypostasis who possesses two natures, wills, and energies.”

“Substance? Potency? What? Sounds rationalistic. It’s a mystery bro”

The prosperity gospel teaches that God wants you to be healthy and wealthy.

But who is more likely to embrace this theology?

Those at the bottom end of the income spectrum.

More than half of those making <$40K/yr.

Less than a quarter of those making $75K+.

The revelation that 23 Chinese swimmers tested positive for a banned drug seven months before the Tokyo Olympics but were secretly cleared and allowed to continue competing has exposed a bitter and at times deeply personal rift inside the sport. nyti.ms/3JywUDW

🔥🇻🇦☩JMT☩🇻🇦🔥 Say it with me:
You don't have to convert to Roman Catholicism or leave protestantism to believe Christ is truly present in the Eucharist.

By 1,500 years he actually means 840. No official Catholic text denotes marriage to be a sacrament until the Council of Verona in 1184 AD.

One thing I really do appreciate from the Catholic artists is depicting exactly how brutal and horrific the Crucifixion would have been. Jesus was beaten and whipped to the point his body was broken and destroyed before he ever even got to the Cross.

Whether you agree with her vote or not, one cannot deny that Spartz’s vote embodies Teddy Roosevelt’s ideal of non-hyphenated Americanism

Hear what comfortable words our Saviour Christ saith unto all that truly turn to him.

COME unto me all that travail and are heavy laden, and I will refresh you. St. Matthew 11.28

Currently wrestling with my views on bishops and apostolic succession, I stumbled upon this quote by Lancelot Andrewes, from a letter adressed to Hugenout theologian Pierre du Moulin. It really touched my heart and challenges me in my thinking.🧵1/7
