I can totally understand that. The occasional break via storm is very nice. Unfortunately the thunderstorms have been non-stop the last two years! Instead of the occasional crazy thunder strike we’re getting them all the time! The gloominess is so depressing- I miss the Sun of LA

Fortunately we didn’t have any tornadoes in NY when I was a kid. But a couple have touched down since I moved back years ago, luckily they don’t stick around. The thunderstorms make for great lightning watching though!

Really. I guess it’s all relative - but as a native New Yorker living in LA for years - I never found the long stretches without rain oppressive at all - but that’s probably because I spent most of my life dealing with the rain in the Summertime
