@[email protected] @MikePerlberg In most states public education is already the single largest budget item, with teachers getting compensation packages above the state ave for private sector pay.
Throwing more $$$ at a public education establishment that's already proven to be deeply flawed is not an answer.
@[email protected] @MikePerlberg So-called 'advanced degrees' for public ed employees is an administrative barrier to entry erected by the education establishment itself. Parochial schools typically lack the credentialing requirements of public schools and still manage to get better results.
lovesdaryl #StandWith🇺🇦🌹 Nick Lander @MikePerlberg Marcella Arguello Nothing, but since it's Florida the assumption should always be 'this is code for something else' over 'this is very stupid but random'

Buzzkilled 💀💀💀💀💀 @ktizzies @quitafor @MikePerlberg Kaliris Salas-Ramirez, PhD My dude. California is solidly in the middle of per student spending. Way ahead of most red states.
Colon Musk, CEO of GaceX (bsky: @themilfmag.net) @MikePerlberg But now what are parents supposed to do with their kids on the day off? Childcare is insanely expensive, and will only go up if the whole state needs it every week on the same day.
@[email protected] @MikePerlberg Those who want to dismantle the public schools just want more people to witness them failing.
proudhon in manhattan @MikePerlberg It's what happens when you assume teaching is just babysitting. Service persons have been trained in discipline, so presumably they can be effective babysitters.
HENNIMORE!!! @MikePerlberg Absolutely nothing. They just expect vets to do grunt work instead of making teaching a palatable career for actual educators.
Robin Ryan proudhon in manhattan @MikePerlberg Soldier’s’ spouses? You might as well pull strangers off the street at that point. I mean, how else do you tell those kids that you don’t care about their education? Then, make these same kids compete with w/ their private school peers, the game is rigged
@[email protected] @MikePerlberg I maintain that if people stopped calling lgbtq teachers pedophiles or calling them racists for wanting to teach that slavery happened, there wouldn't be a shortage. Better pay should also happen, but most teachers just want to be treated with a little respect
