Appreciation post. It's my tenth year teaching. I love my job. This year I love Wednesdays; the timetable of just RE with 7,8,PPA,8,10 is the best. The day is busy but rewarding. The wednesday kids are usually excited to learn- I am lucky every midweek.

Wanting some 'out the box thinking' ask students to list answers and try and aim for one that would be 'pointless' (an answer they think no one else would say but is valid). Easy concept, great results & quality up.

I got a thank you (out of the blue) for a lesson as a student was packing up 'I know we call it 'how not to die class' (PSHE) but it's my favourite, thanks Miss'.

Nothing quite as scary as telling other people about a hobby that you have. I think it's because there then is expectation. Hope a few kids at school show up/enjoy the sessions I'm planning. Feeling quite nervous! #Teaching

Now a Year 8 form tutor (we are keeping our forms (I've not done this ever before)). Weird kind of excitement as I 'know what I am getting' (usually I get a new Year 7 every year) but also silly nerves! It is the sunday before we return so has to be something to overthink right?

A possibly premature 'happy new years eve' to all the teachers out there. Have the feeling this school year is going to be another odd, exciting, challenging but hopefully rewarding one. Loudly optimistic but probably won't sleep properly 'til Monday
