I consider it a personal success story to have gotten my teenage daughter completely into the Magnetic Fields. Though I wasn't counting on her listening to their song 'The Biggest --ts in History.'
'Really Dad?' she yells out to me just now as if I wrote the damn song.

I told someone recently if Alex got a reporting job on Mars and she needed an editor, I would jump on that spaceship. She has that rare and powerful combination of skills - being a beautiful writer and an absolutely bad-ass investigative reporter. And she is an inspiring leader!

As much as I have enjoyed being a stay-at-home dad these last two months and confusing my kids, ('Dad, why are we having dinner at 5:30?') it's time for me to figure out a next path. So if you're looking for an editor to help you do some good journalism let me know!

It's usually not a good look when an organization devoted to the public interest prevents reporters from attending board meetings. It's worse when that organization employs those very reporters - and won't even let them in the building.

Mizanur Rahman We watched Houston Landing grow and it was fantastic to see journalism about local issues which didn't pander with both sidesing and click bait. And it felt like there was so much more to come! Very disappointing how this was handled, doesn't seem right.
