Must-read. I didn't realize this: organic milk producers can't give their animals antibiotics, and apparently many of them resort to horrible quack cures like packing eye infections with salt.

This misleading PPP/student loans talking point refuses to die. The loans were 100% intended to be turned into grants, it was baked into the policy from the start. The type of student loans under discussion were not designed the same way.

Notably in this episode, Rodrik:

-Is skeptical of IRA/CHIPS aiming for lots of different goals at once
-Doesn't think trade policy should be the primary way we respond to labor market dislocation or struggling places

Even if you take the farms word on everything, I think it important these stories be told, that whistleblowers do what they do and journalists report on the system and how it works.

NEW VIDEO | The Story of The Oregon Trail

In 1971, three student teachers created a computer game about traveling the Oregon Trail. It became one of the best-selling edutainment games of all time. But the creators never made a penny.

Saw the new Joker musical trailer and I've never been more confused about why a movie exists and who it is for

Buffalo is fun. They're redeveloping the grain elevators into good spaces.

The subway isn't huge, but is well-used per kilometer. The radially gridded bus network is solid too.

Things are looking up. Buffalo enjoyed in 2020 its first Census gain since 1950 💪🇺🇸

I thought I read that Kevin Costner bought the rights to John Ford’s movies but apparently I just hallucinated this fact

Not sure what to make of Placer AI data suggesting resident counts are up in downtown areas, while Census suggests urban declines

- Smartphone data could be off (higher devices per capita?)
- Census could be off
- Downtowns could be more resilient than broader metro area

Wanted to note a couple of things about Cardiff Garcia joining Economic Innovation Group.

Not just one of the best interviewers in the game, but an absolute top shelf economic thinker with deep knowledge and that even rarer thing: economic wisdom.

We’ve got great stuff coming!
