AIS News - Warden intercepts mussel-fouled boat after driver neglects to stop at inspection station.

From the field - Sage grouse are beginning to congregate and ‘dance’ on leks.

Every spring, in the wee hours of the morning, male sage grouse will strut their stuff, hoping a female will choose them to mate with. These displays start around mid-March and peak in April.

Today is the day!

Hunters have until 11:45 p.m. MST today to apply for deer and elk permits and nonresident combination licenses.

🏹Nearly 500 students competed in the state archery tournament in Helena on March 18 and 19. The tournament, held at the Lewis and Clark Fairgrounds, was hosted by FWP as part of the National Archery in the Schools Program (NASP).

Landowners have until March 15 to apply for FWP's Unlocking Public Lands Program or the Public Access Land Agreement Program.

The new license year begins March 1, which is the day you can buy your 2024 hunting, fishing, and conservation licenses and begin applying for permits and special licenses. The deadline to apply for deer and elk permits is April 1.
