Interested in people’s thoughts about the Pupil premium update. Perhaps I’m on my own but I was a little disappointed to see the funding go up at a lower rate than inflation. Doesn’t this effectively mean it would cost us more to offer the same support? HeadteacherChat

Had a great time at The Macallan yesterday for a tour and then a meal. A very different experience but enjoyable and what a venue!

I’m not sure about this. Is it ok that the they are being recommended if they are optional? Does it show preference and if so, why get rid in the first place. We aren’t doing them. Allows us to run the same suite of assessments all the way through - better tracking and analysis.

A busy half term with an Ofsted thrown in to boot. Now ready for belated 40th birthday celebrations as Mrs C and I are off to Scotland - mainly so that I can visit the home of some the best whisky!

I know that there isn’t a bottomless pot of money, but this is the reality. Funding is not matching rising costs and so we again trying to do more with less. We cannot keep cutting things to avoid deficit budgets. Even with prudent planning, it’s a battle.
