A1) Had a senior this year who never considered college. I told him he was more than ready. He's now on his way to major in engineering. Not sure why it took 13 years of school for someone to believe in him.

I don't think X is the issue. I think teachers have changed. I can't get collaboration happening in person much either. I've seen more 'this is only a job' posts in the last year than ever. It's sad.

A1) For a number of years I'd 'read' my students the history of April Fool's day. After weaving a ridiculous historical narrative I'd turn the paper over to reveal it was blank. Got them every time.
