Reduce anxiety by identifying formative v summative activities on Unit DAY 1. Worried about work completion? Model their value....formative feedback, failing forward, learning from each other, etc. Increase intrinsic motivation by being fully transparent

Online tip:Be consistent AND flexible. Provide daily/weekly routine w obj, task list, & walkthrough screencast. Provide voice/choice by developing norms together & acknowledging “human moments”. Clear expectations and compassion build trust in the T-S relationship.

Ts can have assessment without tests. Use formatives w autograded feedback for “the lil stuff” like basic recall/assoc. Use authentic, project-based assessments with voice/choice for broader, deeper learning goals and let your Ss make you say “whoa...that kid really got it.”
