Blown away by the level of support from folks on here - thank you all so much🙏

I will continue voicing concerns re: situations that put patients at risk.

I understand some may not like this, but I must stress as per GMC guidance itself:

“the primary role of a doctor is for

Urgent work needs to be done to address the damaging “cover-up culture' in hospitals.

Evidence should not be buried because this can lead to avoidable injuries / death.

The pressure on UK maternity wards is unsustainable.

“What staff need is what new parents need – to be listened to and understood, with opportunities to air the emotional impact of what they experience.”

Agreed, but there must also be accountability. theguardian.com/lifeandstyle/2…

Can't believe we're having this discussion again. If you read patients notes that have nothing to do with your scope of work, 1) it is wrong, 2) it is illegal, 3) you will get caught if it's on EPR and especially if it's a celebrity patient, and 4) you will lose your job.

Another maternity service in the East Midlands that has failed. Another family devastated by loss, calling for an independent review.
Why are we still seeing these tragedies? Our team has been doing medical negligence for over 30 years, we ask ourselves, what has changed?

This Valentine’s Day, this day to celebrate love, I honour those of you who carry your love & grief together, who ache with love for your precious babies gone too soon. I see you carry your baby in your ever-changed heart & am holding you & your families close in my heart.

Another day, another doctor punished for whistleblowing in the NHS.

RUH Bath 🏥 has significant questions to answer — why did they feel it appropriate to specifically target a member of staff after raising concerns?

On a medico-legal skills course. Lecturer talking about the GMC:

“GMC are a public body, there for the best interest of patients. NOT the best interests of doctors.”

Question from a doctor: “so WHY are doctors the ones having to fund the GMC with annual fees?!”

No answer.

Deflecting and defending the indefensible MUST stop.

Why aren’t lessons being learned? There seems to be a widespread culture in the NHS that’s masking the real issues without addressing the valid concerns raised and preventing further tragedies.

It seems to me that clinical negligence lawyers running claims are, at least in part, holding NHS Trusts to account - without which there wouldn’t appear to be any real accountability.
