🎶 You spin one wheel in, you turn the next wheel out, you pivot another wheel upside down, and you turn Roman all about 🎶

Roman's eight reaction wheels will rotate the spacecraft with great precision to point at specific areas of the sky.

Good news from our future telescope teammate Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope – its mirrors passed vision testing!

Roman has a primary mirror the same size as Hubble’s primary mirror, but with a larger field-of-view to gather sweeping survey observations of our universe once it launches in 2027. ⬇️

For Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope, it's a game of micrometers, not inches (that's the level of precision required to pass its latest optical test). Learn about NASA's Roman telescope and how it'll help us better understand dark energy, exoplanets, and infrared astrophysics. go.nasa.gov/3JmgoqF

Roman's 'eyes' have passed their vision test!

The Imaging Optics Assembly, IOA, consists of 10 mirrors that must be aligned perfectly to direct light to the science instruments to obtain the most precise images.

Next steps: environmental testing! go.nasa.gov/3JmgoqF

Our mini Roman saw a total solar eclipse at the Indy Speedway!
Did you know the first coronagraph was designed to look at our Sun? It blocked out the light to study the corona.
Roman's Coronagraph will block out the light of distant stars to uncover planets hidden around them!

Roman's primary structure, also known as the spacecraft bus, and propulsion tanks have been integrated.

Wondering what those tiny red covers are? They house thrusters, which will tilt the telescope to observe specific areas of the cosmos. 📸 NASA/ Chris Gunn

Propulsion tanks 🤝 primary structure

These two Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope components have been integrated at the NASA Goddard clean room. While this video may be a minute long, the process took several hours to ensure the fit is just right!

The pieces are coming together! Roman's propulsion tanks have been integrated into the spacecraft's primary structure in the NASA Goddard clean room.

The 4 tanks will carry almost 300 gallons of hydrazine fuel – enough to support 10+ years of observations.
