Khoros : #TBT-9/24/61,#NASCARHOFer Joe Weatherly topped Rex White for the victory in front of 18,000 spectators in the Old Dominion 500 at Martinsville Speedway.Weatherly assumed the lead from White on lap 418 & later ran out of fuel on the last lap—barely hanging on to claim the $3,595 purse.

Khoros : Dover International Speedway has hosted 102 NASCAR premier series races but the MBNA-Cal Ripken 400, held on September 23, 2001, may have been the most memorable.

Khoros : #TBT - 9/16/56, Memphis-Arkansas Speedway, a long 1.5-mile dirt track played host to a 300-mile Convertible Division race. This race was swept by Hall of Fame teammates Curtis Turner & Joe Weatherly both of whom drove for the factory Ford team owned by Pete DePaolo. #NASCARHall
