May 9: 'When a scrupulous person has once made up his mind that he has not consented to a temptation, he must not reason the matter over again to see whether he has really consented or not, for the same temptations often return by making this sort of reflections.'

O Jesus Christ, O Lord divine,
Who turned the water into wine,
Pray forgive those foolish men
Who seek to turn it back again.

Read one poem a day, at night in bed while you're winding down, and in a year you will have read more poetry then most people will read in their whole life.

(And read it out loud, at least at a whisper- poetry is best when heard.)

6. The Brothers Karamazov by Fyodor Dostoevsky (1880)

Part family drama, part theological drama, Dostoevsky's masterpiece is a passionate exploration of faith, free will, and familial bonds, told through the lives of a father and his sons.

In 1934, an aspiring writer asked Ernest Hemingway what books he should read.

He responded with a list of 16 classic works.

They're Great Books. I suggest you read them.

Or, at least, read this thread about them:

Carlotta Nobile was an Italian art historian, violinist, writer, blogger, and artistic director of Santa Sophia Academy chamber orchestra in Benevento.

She quickly rose to high prominence and fame, but was diagnosed with cancer at age 22.

She had a birst of Faith in her last 3

The martyr doesn't question: 'How much Lord must I give?'
Their entire being proclaims:
'Look how much the Lord has given me unmerited, to Him my life belongs'

These times beg for such Martyrs of love and charity!

Rewatched Benedict XVI's 1st appearance on the central loggia. I was in the piazza at the time in '05. Beautiful, unforgettable moment. Hard to watch though, in light of the past 10 years. But it's clear that the youth in the Church today are carrying on his liturgical vision.
