The NLEOMF announced Sgt. Dave Musgrove of the Charlotte County (FL) Sheriff’s Dept. as their Officer of the Month for Feb. 2024. Sgt. Musgrove rescued a six-month-old baby from a vehicle after a speeding motorcyclist slammed into the vehicle.

Earlier this week we held an engraving ceremony on the Memorial grounds. The process has begun of adding the 282 fallen officers' names to the walls.

Once completed, the total number of fallen officer names on the wall will be 24,067.

From 2014-2023, a total of 32 officers were fatally struck by passing vehicles while they were on the scene of an existing crash. Protect yourself and other crash responders with heavy blocking vehicles, implement TIM, create light pathways, and wear high visibility apparel.

The NLEOMF announces Sergeant Abel Hernandez of the West Covina Police as their OTM for Jan. 2024. Sergeant Hernandez was selected for his actions when he unknowingly interrupted an armed robbery at a local 7-11 and managed to apprehend the suspect.

Yesterday, the Memorial Research team with the assistance of other staff, began placing engraving strips on the Memorial Walls. This is the first phase of the engraving process to ensure correct placement and spacing.
