An atmospheric river is heading for the West, especially CA, according to NOAA’s NWS Climate Prediction Center. Relatively dry for most of the northern US. As for the drought-stricken South/Southeast: normal precip chances.

Temps: Lots of red = likely warmer than normal

Rain is finally on the way.

Over the next week, the area in Exceptional Drought (D4) that includes E TX, most of LA, and SW MS may see over an inch of precip w/ over 2” in parts.

Any rain will help. But 6-month deficits range from 12” to over 20”.
