Indigeneity+nationhood/peoplehood isn't predicated on demanding territory or sovereignty from another polity but on already having sovereignty that settler states consider inferior. There's no anti-colonialism without self-determination & liberation of oppressed peoples.

Can’t help but be reminded of former TRC Research Director Paulette Regan’s (2010) emphasis on challenging the “peacemaker myth” as a crucial part of undoing the settler delusions at the heart of ongoing colonial violence.
