While DAA treatment is highly effective, as with any condition, there are many reasons folks with #hepC may wind up needing to be treated multiple times. In 17 states, #Medicaid restrictions on retreatment make those cures even harder to reach. 🚧🛑

With random administrative burdens putting unnecessary strain on time-strapped patients and healthcare workers, it's upsetting but not surprising that only 1 in 6 Medicaid recipients under 40 are cured after testing positive for #hepC 💔😤

Because of managed care organizations and other reasons beyond their control, #Medicaid beneficiaries living in the same state often have disparate access to hepatitis C treatment depending on whether fee-for-service or MCOs administer their benefits.
