I attended a press conference to promote NYS’s Donate Life Registry. I spoke w/ 11-year-old Ava Walia who is helping lead the charge w/ donation advocacy. I also heard many stories of personal experiences w/ organ transplants/donations from my colleagues.

The fact that we have only managed to build and install 7 EV charging stations statewide in 2 years is ridiculous. I have written 3 letters to the Governor, NYPA, NYSERDA, NYS DOT and the Thruway Authority on this very issue. It’s time for NYS to wake up!

It was Honor Flight Day in Albany. It was great to help honor our veterans for their service. In the Assembly Chamber and the LOB, we were also treated to a couple saxophone performances by a talented 103-year-old veteran. I'm grateful to our vets and appreciate them visiting us!

I signed onto a letter w/ my Republican colleagues to the Governor asking her to take urgent action and declare a State Disaster Emergency in response to the growing opioid epidemic in NY. Every 90 minutes, a NYer dies a preventable death due to an overdose. This is unacceptable.

Jaquan Casserly pleaded guilty to criminal sale of a controlled substance. He sold fentanyl to Chelsey Murray in 2022, resulting in her fatal overdose. We need more laws to bring justice to families like Chelsey’s that have been impacted by drug overdose.

I was proud to help organize and speak at the 3rd Annual Strengthening the System of Care for Co-Occurring Disorders LI Conference last Thursday. I look forward to seeing more attention brought to this issue, so we can get individuals and their families the help they need.

It was announced the US Small Business Administration will offer federal assistance to NYers who were impacted by severe storms from Jan. 9 to Jan. 10, 2024. Residents/businesses in Suffolk & Nassau counties are eligible to apply for loans to aid in their recovery.

NYS’s legal cannabis industry is failing and needs an overhaul.

I was happy to see an article published in Politico about a bipartisan press conference recently on NYS’s Cannabis Law and what our State Legislature is doing to combat the rise in illegal sellers of adult-use cannabis. Illegal weed shops have to go.
