Tonight we are back out in Downtown Schenectady talking with residents about second chances for their incarcerated community members. Almost everyone we spoke to signed a postcard to their Assembly Member in support of the Elder Parole and Fair and Timely Parole bills.

Young people get it. The mass incarceration policies of prior generations failed us all. It’s time to build a true justice system that values healing, transformation and safety—not vengeance and white supremacy.

🧵 Today, Chicago Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights, Restore Justice, and Uptown People’s Law Center have released a critical report titled “Ending Long Term Solitary Confinement in Illinois” describing the urgent need for solitary confinement reform in Illinois.

This weekend we did street canvasing and spoke with small business owners in Wyandanch on Long Island. Many were excited to support our work to reunite Long Island families and promote healing and safety for all.
