We are currently dealing with a collision involving a motorcycle and a van on the A171 at Ugthorpe.

The road is closed in both directions. Please avoid the area, while emergency services work at the scene - thank you for your understanding.

We're at the scene of a diesel spillage on the B1249 at Staxton Hill, near Scarborough.

The road is blocked and likely to be closed some time - so please avoid the area and find alternative routes for your journeys.

Can you help our appeal following a violent incident at Jonno's Field, off Barrowcliff Road on Monday afternoon.

It involved a group of teenage boys.

Can you help our appeal following a number of break-ins in the Glenside area of Scarborough?

They happened in the early hours of Thursday 28 March when the suspect broke into a number of sheds and garages.

Simonette Walczynski, 70, from Filey, died earlier this month (her death is not being treated as suspicious).

We need to identify any next of kin. If you may be related to her, please phone Su Gregson Coroners Officer on 01609 643168.

Stainsacre Lane, Whitby is currently closed due to an RTC. The road is closed both sides of the roundabout outside Abbey View Housing Estate.

Margaret Wood, 77, died at home in Eastfield, Scarborough, this week.

Unfortunately, we haven't been able to identify any next of kin.

Family located - thank you 🙏

Earlier today we posted an appeal on behalf of the Coroner to find next of kin of a man who sadly died in Scarborough earlier this month.

We have now been able to speak to his family.

Thank you to everyone who supported the appeal.

Whilst on mobile patrol, Whitby Neighbourhood officers came across the above vehicle. Checks were carried out and the vehicle was seized for document offences. The driver of the vehicle wil also be reported for numerous traffic offences.
