In period before his assassination, 63% of Americans disapproved of Dr King’s protests. The NY Times editorialized against his “slander” against U.S. because of his anti war position, and accused him of being disruptive. We know today that provocateurs were planted in his rallies

Deeply worrying and more than a bit disingenuous that the USG keeps talking as if it’s possible to conduct a Rafah offensive in a way that protects civilians and maintains aid flows. Everything we have seen from the IDF over the last 6+ months suggests the opposite.

The UAE invests a lot of effort curating their image in DC.

So it's quite important that leaders in Congress are now talking openly about how the UAE's illegal arms transfers have directly equipped and enabled the RSF's rampage of atrocities and ethnic cleansing in Darfur.

Why is solidarity with workers critical?

Workers and frontline communities are at the forefront of global struggles for the right to live in peace and dignity - and against exploitation, violence and environmental destruction.

If any kid is hurt tonight, responsibility will fall on the mayor and univ presidents.

Other leaders and schools have found a safe, de-escalatory path. This is the opposite of leadership and endangers public safety. A nightmare in the making.

I urge the Mayor to reverse course.

Anyone who thinks this militarized response to the demonstrators will end their anger over Israel’s genocide is nuts. Shame on Columbia, its donors, its pathetic President, & the NYPD. And btw, this will have consequences in November.

We are proud to stand with 46 other orgs to tell the White House: No credible humanitarian plan for an attack on Rafah exists. Netanyahu’s threatened invasion of Rafah would be a disaster.

It shouldn’t be lost on anyone that the Biden administration’s biggest successes have been in areas where they’ve been most welcoming of progressive ideas, their biggest failures where they’ve been the least.
