Islam gave women right UNDER SHARIAH.Prophet(peace be upon him) prohibited the burying of female infants. Commanded to raise them well and TO TAKE CARE OF THEM. So much so when u get them married in a good household you will be given Jannah as you've completed ur responsibility.

In a society where women were looked down. Allah sent his Prophet Muhammad(Peace Be Upon Him) to give women their due RIGHTS.Pre Arab women when get pregnant wouldn't even know who's the father of the child. To so much extent the Fahsha was flourished.
