Two Pomarine Skua east past the Point at 06:23 and 07:24 per MC

Cracking day at Bough Beech, with a calling Wood Sandpiper, Avocet, 3 Whimbrel, Greenshank and 2 Dunlin all North over the res, 2 flocks of Arctic Terns through one of c40 and c50 birds, at least 4 Little Gulls, White Stork, 7 Yellow Wagtails & 15 Swifts KOS

2 excellent sessions seawatching today at Dungeness: thousands of Terns (including our first Arctics, Littles & Blacks of the year), Brents, 2 Avocets, 2 RB Mergansers, 1 BT Diver amongst the RTs, Fulmars, Barwits & Whimbrels, 1 Great & several Arctic Skuas & Scoters. Brilliant.

And a walk with Richard Buckley (4 miles) around Mersham and Hatch Park this evening. 4 Mandarin Ducks in flight, 1 singing Mistle Thrush, 2 Stock Doves, more Pied Wagtails, singing Reed Bunting, 2 C Buzzards, 1 Greylag Goose. Blackcaps & Chiffchaffs singing too.

Another look at the Conningbrook Lakes Lakes Wetland area this evening: 6 LRPs (!!!), 1 Lapwing, male Yellow Wagtail still with the Pied flock, 1 Swift, 1 Sand Martin and plenty of Swallows & House Martins, 2 Little Egrets and at least 4 Grey Herons. A rare soon… surely. 👍🤞

A quick 3 miler after work. Patchwork Challenge the Kentish Stour CP and Singleton Lake. Very quiet with just Chiffchaffs & Blackcaps singing subduedly, 2 Jays, the first Mallard ducklings and Moorhen chicks, plus a group of Swallows & House Martins over the distant Bucksford Lake.

Final stop at a now very muddy wetland area Conningbrook Lakes Lakes CP: 1 Common Sandpiper, 2 LRPs, 1 Yellow Wagtail, Swallows & House Martins, 2 Stock Doves, Grey Herons, 1 Lapwing, 1 Egyptian Goose, 3 Mediterranean Gulls over, Chiffs, Blackcap & finally the singing Cetti’s Warbler
