Great to see the restoration of the folly at Radford nearing completion. The owner and skilled tradesmen deserve a huge thank you for their dedication. The folly, probably built in the 1840s, sits between Hooe Lake and Radford Lake - once part of the ancient Radford Estate.

I K Brunel's Grade I listed Royal Albert Bridge opened 1859 over the Tamar, Saltash. IK Brunel's chief assistant Robert Pearson Brereton. supervised much of the construction and represented Brunel at the opening due to his ill health.

On this day in 1859, the Royal Albert Bridge, a railway bridge spanning the Tamar River at Saltash, was officially opened by Prince Albert. 🌉

At 667 metres long, it was designed by Isambard Kingdom Brunel.
