I'm really pleased that this is out. This is a beautiful study from Dan Levenstein that demonstrates how sequential predictive learning can account for both the structure of online hippocampal representations and offline 'replay'. A unifying theory of hippocampal function! 😀

Marr has computation, algorithm, and mechanism. Tinbergen got evo, devo, goal, and mechanism. But whats the name for 'I just fit something and great R2. Many papers do it. It does not fit into Marr nor Tinbergen. How is it called? Nihilism?
