In Bentiu, Reena Ghelani and Marie-Helene Verney saw how communities use flood waters to grow vegetables through climate-smart agriculture, and improve their wellbeing.
Women-led organizations bring back hope in South Sudan.
In Bentiu, I met Mery and Angelina, some of the women supported by World Food Programme and partners to adapt to a changing climate and improve their livelihoods.
When women are supported, the whole community benefits.
It was an honor to meet with #SouthSudan Vice-President Office of the Vice President: Gender & Youth S.S..
We agreed on the need to support women who play a crucial role in building the economy and fighting hunger.

It is also home to extreme, frequent and intense weather events – such as heavy rain & drought-like conditions – affecting the most vulnerable people.
