Great results from this trial. Shame this intervention, that saves lives from such a common disease, isn’t available across the country. No emergency pathway for Impella or ECLC at all in the East of England Norfolk and Waveney Integrated Care System (ICS)

Heard the characteristic sound of an AW139 helicopter overhead in the middle of the night. Checking Flight Radar 24 from my bed showed it was our retrieval aircraft Rescue 207. It was 1.39 am. An AW139 at 01.39!
Imagine my wife’s delight to be woken and informed of this marvel.

Imaging working in an Emergency Department in a new hospital near beautiful beaches where protected teaching actually happens and all critical care / resuscitation is managed 'in house'
