Quite a sight when you see a Pod of #Orca hunting. This pod, the 27's were hunting seals and harbour porpoise. ORCA Orca Survey Scotland save cetaceans The Orca Project On the Killer Whale Trail Sea Save Foundation Blue Planet Society
So priviliged to join the Hebridean Whale & Dolphin Trust research boat Silurian for their winter survey this week. So far we've seen a group of common dolphins, including a very wee dinky one! And every weather and type of season possible - hail, sun, fog, you name it π Awesome so far! ππͺπ½π³
Had a 'Whale' of a time today, following the 27's down the East Coast of #Shetland here are some drone video stills from today.

Happy World Orca Dayπ³Isn't it cool that the more we unravel about their social lives, culture, foraging habits, the more we realise how little we know. There's so much still to learn! π₯°Here's a pic from our research: google 'Predation in the Anthropocene' to readπΈ Southspear Media & Surveys Ltd.

Our first #OrcaActionMonth ep this June is all about the West Coast Community in Scotland. While 10 individuals total have been identified by Hebridean Whale & Dolphin Trust, only two - W01 John Coe and W08 Aquarius have been seen in recent years.
