883 votes have been cast in today’s poll, representing a turn out of 39.76%

The Stromness boxes have arrived at the count centre and are being verified.

Councillor Heather Woodbridge was elected unopposed at this morning's meeting of the Full Council, replacing James Stockan who stepped down as an elected member on 5 February.
At 29, Heather becomes not only Orkney Islands Council's first female leader, but its youngest too.
