Our Dir. (Mental Health & Criminal Justice | Death Penalty Mitigation), Maitreyi Misra will deliver a talk at Dr. B.R. Ambedkar University Delhi (G3, KP Campus) tomorrow at 2 PM. She will discuss issues of labels of 'criminal' & 'accused' & share lessons learnt from her work on death penalty mitigation.

After 3 trials & being sentenced to death twice in the same case, Anokhilal was  #acquitted this week by the #trial court in Khandwa, MP. The court reversed its finding of guilt after discovering exculpatory #evidence & serious errors in the  #forensic   #DNA evidence.

Our Director Neetika Vishwanath led 3 sessions on mitigation & sentencing in #deathpenalty cases organised by Reprieve & Advocates Association of Sarawak for lawyers in Malaysia. These sessions aimed to equip lawyers with essential skills to navigate capital sentencing proceedings.
