At the turn of 2024?

I had asked-via The BMJ ALL organisations to reflect, listen to next generation doctors & stop the gaslighting

Yet here we are-lurching into further disasters

There is no question
We’ve collectively failed our Generation Next.

Glad this has been finally picked up but some important qs remain: are incentive payments being used to create new jobs quickly & what is being done to avoid a larger mess next year?

Post F2 unemployment is becoming an increasing problem, whilst primary care is on it’s knees.

It’s time we let locally employed resident doctors into primary care.

No one can complain about the supervision requirements when MAPs with <1/3 the training are running loose

Letter to the editor in response to laparoscopic cholecystectomies performed by an SCP: a review of outcomes.

We are stressed and anxious. 1000 of us new doctors don't have an allocated job instead just a 'placeholder' due to a lack of planning from @nhsengland and @ukfpo.

I’ve never been taught about hot flushes as anything but an inconvenience in med school

Hot flushes, however, inc cardiovascular events by 50-77%

Hot flushes can be viewed as markers of underlying pathophysiology not a normal part of menopause

Imagine doing 5 years of university (often more) to work in one of the most highly sought jobs in the world. Everywhere except in the UK where there must be too many doctors as 730 new graduates currently have no details on their job with 3 months to go

Interesting that in London, which is the UK’s most diverse city, Reform UK managed only 3.2% of the vote in the Mayoral election. When human beings actually live with people from different backgrounds, they tend to get along just fine.

Someone published the logbook from ONE SINGLE surgical care practitioner in a peer-reviewed journal and then made the leap to suggest that care given by SCPs in general is safe. How did this pass peer review?

I think my career has reached a low point. Was struggling with an objectively difficult cannula. On my third attempt, my very delirious patient told me “f*** off. Watch.” And proceeded to cannulate themself. Perfectly.

I don’t know whether to be impressed, scared or dejected.

Bank holiday ward round continues!

We have 70+ inpatients to see and Josh, Sesha and Rob are doing a fab job!

These doctors are the future. They work incredibly hard but remain in significant debt. They’re paid less than the person who served you coffee.

We need real change…

Dr Helen Salisbury NHS England I’m an F2, applied to nearly 30 jobs for jobs advertised specifically for those finishing F2

Got 2 interviews and 1 job offer in a place far from home in a new city with 1 person who I knew

Guess which country accepted me with open arms in a city I wanted with decent pay? 🤷🏻
